(Jyoti Līla)
Certified and Registered 200 Hour Yoga Instructor since 2014

"I came to yoga in 2010, drawn initially for medical reasons, however, I then embarked upon an amazing journey with daily hatha yoga, breathwork, kriya chanting and other meditation practices. I've been sharing meditation and yoga for over ten years now. Yoga has become a way of life. it's woven into every thread of life's great tapestry."
Before I came to yoga, I studied and taught languages, worked in Gastronomy and in the Wine Trade. This life saw me living, working and studying in Chile and Brazil, France, Spain and Portugal as well as Swansea in Wales and various English cities in the UK. Having lived in and around the London area for most of my life, I relocated to Southampton on the South Coast of the UK in 2010 and there began my discovery of yoga, through the Yoga Sanctuary.
In 2016 I took the decision to move to Austria - into the Alpine valley known as Lechtal (The Lech Valley) in Tirol. Combining yoga with gastronomy work and teaching English at the college helped me to get going out here. I spent two years in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, where I met all kinds of wonderful people through yoga, kirtan events, ecstatic dance events, English teaching and more. I continue to return to the Rheintal regularly, although more for pleasure than for work.
Since leaving my yoga home in England, I have mostly simply continued to practice all that I learned there and have embarked upon lots of self-study. I trained to teach yoga to children and teenagers, as well as Chair Yoga for those with less mobility. I am also a part of the Mountain Retreat Yoga Sangha and the Satsang Foundation, following Sri M and the Vedanta teachings and kriya practices which he shares. I have also worked with various plant medicines at various times, but my main focus is yoga and the Akashic Records and also now, a bit more ancestral work.
I moved to the tiny village of Gramais in 2019, and decided to make it my permanent home, selling my little house in the UK and paying off my debts. The story here continues to unfold, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunities and support that I receive here. I now focus almost entirely on yoga, Thai yoga massage and music, alongside supporting my friends and neighbours with their holiday let accommodation.

In gratitude:
In 2010, I was looking for some help dealing with chronic pain and burnout and started to study and practice yoga under the guidance of Steve and Sarah Harrison at the Yoga Sanctuary, Southampton, UK. it simply transformed my life. I completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training programme over a period of 18 months there, graduating in 2014, and then studied a further 18 months of an advanced teacher training programme. Over 6 years, I studied and practised thousands of hours of yoga, meditation, scripture and philosophy courses and discovered a profound love for mantra and music, kirtan there. I lived a bit like a nun or a monk for a while, changed my whole way of life, including diet, work, play and rest.
Having relocated to Austria in July 2016, I remain connected to the Yoga Sanctuary who are now based at Wildwood Ashram and I continue to draw inspiration from all that I have learned there.
I have become a semi-regular attendee at Sri M and the Satsang Foundation Swiss Mountain Retreats, drawn to sangha and satsangha, and the Vedanta and Kriya teachings since 2018. I have also attended Satsangs with Mooji in India and Portugal.
I also find guidance and inspiration through self study, (jñānā yoga), music dance, through people I meet along life's great journey, other philosophical and spiritual teachers, and increasingly, from mother nature herself. I feel drawn to the elements, working increasingly with water, up here where many of the great rivers begin.

NatureConnection
Mother Nature is one of my greatest teachers. In my spare time, I love to get out into the forest and the mountains, to walk, forest bath and hike a litte and in winter, a little cross-country and downhill skiing.
I enjoy spending time forest bathing, barefoot walking, toe dipping and swimming in cold lakes and rivers. I also enjoy gardening and I love to sing, make music and dance.
